In this entry I discuss the proliferation of consumer information technology and its impacts on the corporate I.T. department. I attempt to demonstrate that knowledge workers are only as successful as we allow them to be. By allowing these workers to have their own preferred technology, the company has a better chance to succeed.

Corporate I.T. needs to change their ways and allow more consumer preferred technology. It requires thinking outside the comfort realm of existing I.T. management practice. Thereby I.T. will succeed to truly support the business practices of the company providing them with their mandate, or face peril.
