Contest #2:
I think that the ID3 Podcast Magazine needs a slogan. Type a slogan in the e-mail for contest #1, and get another chance to win. Feel free to be “creative.”
E-MAIL DEADLINE FOR CONTEST #1 and CONTEST #2 is 12noon Sunday January 29th, 2006
Contest #3
…involves more work, but it could be el neato. Listen to the show for details on how to participate. Deadline for submissions to that (requiring a very special mp3 file) is Saturday, February 4th, 2006.
So… If you want to just send the address, OK, 1 chance. Send your address AND a slogan for the id3 mag, you’ll get TWO chances. Contest #3 asks you to participate in the first collaborative audio project on Podcheck, and in return, you’ll get entered in a separate drawing for a free subscription to ID3 mag.
Winners are limited to one subscription, and there will be a total of three different winners, one for each contest. Winners will be drawn randomly from three separate pools of entries, one for each contest. No purchase necessary, void where prohibited, no warranties or contracts may be inferred or implied by participation. Prizes have no redeemable cash value, but are transferable.

PodTrac announcement this week
Kiptronic Announcement with Libsyn on January 17th.
PodShow’s un-announcement on January 13th, Adam Curry (DSC #315) said that the Podsafe Music Network is VERY close to allowing the purchase of music from artists. Also, Podcast Delivery Network is taking shape. Directly connected to CastBlaster, and has several tiers of service.

A LONG dissertation on the social boundaries created by the three choices of advertising networks… and… a SONG! Beware: You will be enchanted and bewitched by the melody.

Coming up on 1-year anniversary for many podcasts. Polymorphic Podcast had a fun retrospective show, where Craig played a clip from his very first show and throughout the show talks about his journey from the very first crappy show to where he is today … A common theme - at 3:48 in 2006-01-11 show, talks about being obsessed and talking with his wife. He also talks about how he and I met.

:
Interesting, and at 12 episodes a year, it would cost you a grand total of $6 a year, and Podcheck would earn $350 per episode if all 700 official subscribers actually stuck around. I could do a Bitpass Unplugged account. (Details on Bitpass Unplugged in PDF format HERE) Since my focus this year will be on things that make money, and less on the stuff that doesn’t, what would YOU do? Would you pay 50 cents per episode? Would you pay $12 a year to listen to the show for two 20-minute episodes a month?
I have my own predictions on what might happen, but if it meant hearing more shows from the Podcheck Palace, would you be interested in paying? Even if there was also advertising in the show? I’m really more curious than anything. I’ll read responses and play mp3 feedback on the next show.
